Panfried Pork Steak with Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage and Apples

  • 3 Cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 Onions, thinly sliced
  • salt

  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 4 Trim Pork Shoulder or Leg Steaks (about 200g each)
  • 3 tbsp Sultanas
  • 3 tbsp Signature Range Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Small Red Cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp Signature Range Balsamic Vinegar
  • 3 Apples, peeled, cored and sliced


Preheat the oven to 200°C

Heat the oil in large frying pan over moderate heat and brown

pork steaks well.

Move to an oven proof dish and place in oven for about 8 minutes or until well cooked.

Meanwhile, add garlic, onions and apples to the frying pan over moderate heat and fry gently until everything is browned and the onions are soft.

Add cabbage, turn up the heat and panfry, stirring occasionally until the cabbage has wilted but is still crisp.

Add the vinegar and take the pork from the oven and pour the meat juices into the cabbage mixture.

Mix well, season to taste with salt and pepper and serve the cabbage mixture on the pork.
