Sirloin Steak with Slow Cooked Onions and Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 2 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
  • Black Pepper, freshly ground
  • Salt
  • 3 tbsp Chives, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp Parsley, finely chopped
  • 4 pieces sirloin steak about 150-200g each
  • 4 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • Brown Brothers Shiraz
  • 200g Button Mushrooms, sliced
  • 6 tbsp Olive Oil

Method

Heat 3 tablespoons of the oil over moderate heat and add the onions, garlic, mushrooms and vinegar.

Gently fry for about 15 minutes until the onion and mushrooms are soft and the vinegar has evaporated.

Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir in the chives and parsley, keep warm and reserve.

Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan, add the steak and panfry it to your liking.

Serve the onions and mushrooms on the steak.
