Bring your own bags when you pick up

We know our customers are really keen to help reduce packaging, whether that’s paper or plastic, and we want to help.

Introducing BYO Bags as an option for our Pick up customers is one of the ways we’re looking to help reduce unnecessary packaging across the board. Pick up customers who choose to BYO Bags will now be able to order online and pack their groceries into their own bags when they Pick up in-store. For customers who would prefer their order to be packed in paper bags, a $1 bag charge will be applied per order at checkout.

  • While we’ve covered the cost of these bags to date to help our customers get used to the changes, unfortunately we can’t continue to do this. We aren’t making any profit on paper bags; the $1 bag charge per order will nearly cover our costs, but not completely.
