Grower Fresh Asparagus
  • Tasty, Crisp and Grower Fresh Asparagus From Cambridge?
    We Can Help With That

Nothing marks spring quite like the arrival of asparagus in store! Sweet, delicate and slightly nutty in flavour, these tender stems are arguably the star of the season. We source our Grower Fresh asparagus directly from growers like Boyds Asparagus in Cambridge, so you can be assured that you’re getting the crispest and most flavourful of the bunch. And while owner Ash Boyd’s favourite way to eat them is “boiled for four minutes. On the plate. In the gob,” we reckon you might want to give some of the following recipes a try too!

Here for a good time not a long time, asparagus has a notoriously short season – starting in September and tapering off by late December. We reckon that’s all the more reason to get in while the eating’s good!

Tips

Asparagus is a great source of folate, thiamin and vitamin C. Both folate and Vitamin C helps to support the immune system and thiamin helps produce energy.

You can enjoy asparagus both raw and cooked. Snap the ends off to remove the woody bits that are hard to eat. Grate or slice fresh asparagus and toss in a salad with a splash of lemon juice and olive oil. Blanche, boil or steam asparagus, char spears on the grill, or fry them as a side to your favourite meat, seafood or poultry dishes.
