Hearty Beef Casserole with Mash

Your family will love to come in from the cold to this heart-warming beef casserole. It’s packed full of lean meat and fresh vegies and best served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 500g beef, chuck steak, lean, raw
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 tablespoon Flora Buttery Spread
  • 1 packet Continental Beef Stroganoff Recipe Base
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled, cubed
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms, Swiss brown or button
  • 1 large carrot, peeled and sliced
  • 1 can crushed tomaotes

Method:

Preheat oven to 180°C. Evenly coast beef in flour. In a heavy pan, heat Flora Buttery Spread and fry onions until softened. Add beef and cook until well browned.

Place beef and onions in an ovenproof dish, wish mushrooms and potatoes, Continental Beef Stroganoff Recipe Base, 1¼ cup water, carrots and tomatoes.

Place in oven and cook for 1 hour, uncovered or until beef is tender.
